Men’s mythological belief in themselves is well understood by the second wavers. In fact it was Andrea Dworkin who said “men are heroes whatever they do”.
Men do not however credit women as people who have any sort of heroic or mythic narrative, I think this is one reason why misogyny will stay when other “oppressions” are dealt with, and why men have such tantrums if any one points out that their hurt fee-fees is not actually class-analysis.
If it happens to men, it is real, if it happens to women … well it can’t possibly happen to women. We are empty shells that exist only to prop up men’s stories, fantasies, fetishes, delusions and demands for dick and ego servicing.
